Why Pray? Eastertide Sermon Series
19th century Danish theologian Soren Kierkegaard wrote: The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.
When we place ourselves before God in prayer, we are changed. Our hearts are opened. We no longer consider ourselves self-sufficient; instead, we open ourselves to God’s presence and power in our lives, and form a relationship with God through prayer.
