Welcome Rev. Kevin Kim Wright
It’s with great joy, hope and love that the Hollywood UMC Staff Parish Relations Committee announces the following:
Rev. Kevin Kim Wright has been appointed by Bishop Dottie Escobedo-Frank and District Superintendent Siosaia Tu’itahi. His quarter-time appointment began on March 13th, 2025. Rev. Kevin, and his husband Patrick, live in Hollywood with their six month old puppy, Eleanor.
Rev. Kevin has previously served on the pastoral leadership teams of some of the most influential churches in our nation: the historic Riverside Church in New York City, Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, DC (where both the Clintons and Bushes attended during their times in office), Myers Park United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Chaplain’s Office of Georgetown University. Rev. Kevin is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, and was deeply immersed in Wesleyan theology throughout his education — he holds a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Masters of Divinity from Duke University Divinity School.
Rev. Kevin has the privilege of serving as Chief of Staff at Point Foundation, the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ+ students, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s strategy and helping lead its diverse teams. Before assuming that position, he held influential roles as the Chief Growth Officer and Chief Program Officer at Urban Arts, where he spearheaded the implementation of a comprehensive, multi-year strategic plan, propelling the organization to new heights on a national scale through groundbreaking partnerships with industry giants such as Microsoft, AT&T, Unity, and NBCUniversal.
Rev. Kevin is eager to start supporting the community of Hollywood UMC in this interim role, as we prepare to welcome our full-time Associate Pastor in July.
In the Love of Christ,
Hollywood UMC SPRC
