Community Groups for 2024

Please email Devon at devon@hollywoodumc.org if you are interested in a being a part of a group or STARTING one in your home, local hang out or at one of our church campuses. These groups are designed to help build community and stronger relationships, and have fun in the process. All groups are open to new people joining at anytime!

Adult Sunday Study (Beginning Oct 13th, 2024) – led by Rev. Ed and Tim P will meet in the Chapel at 12:15PM on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. For more info on the topic, click this link.

Sundays at HollywoodUMC (Beginning Oct 20th, 2024)– on the 3rd Sundays of the month at 12:15PM.
Hosted Ruth W. – This group will meet in the Grace Room to discuss the topic of aging. No need to RSVP, just show up!

Tuesday Group Movie Night (begins October 1, 2024) – on the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday of the month depending release dates.
Hosted Devon Jones – Please email Devon for information. You can get movie choices/times and locations at this link. (get tickets early since half price movies tend to fill up quickly).

Spirit Pub has a new venue at Rocco’s Weho on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month 6PM.

Unhoused Ministry Monthly Group (begins October 3, 2024) – on the 1st Thursday of the month at 5:30PM to 8:30PM. (Fill out this form to sign up – ONLY 5 SPOTS open at this time).
Hosted by Pastor Bridie – This group volunteers at the Hollywood Food Coalition to serve dinner to our unhoused and food insecure neighbors. Please email Pastor Bridie for questions.

Wednesday Night Adult Choir Group Night (begins October 16, 2024) – on the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of the month 6:15PM.
Hosted by Devon and the HUMC choir – this group meets once a month before choir rehearsal to build community and deepen relationships for choir members. If you would like to be a part of the choir, please email John West your interest.

Small group run for 3 to 4 months / some 1 or 2 times a month. Groups usually meet for 45min to 1 hour. Groups will form in the spring (Feb-May) some in summer (Jun-Sept) and fall (Oct-Dec).
